Faith in Action, Love in Motion
Celestial Manna is a faith-based nonprofit dedicated to feeding the hungry, supporting the weary, and honoring the Lord God through every act of service. Since 1986, we’ve turned surplus into sustenance and built bridges of hope across communities in need.
Celestial Manna:
Over Three Decades of Hope, Service, and Love!
Celestial Manna is a faith-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 1986 by Charlie Mann. What began as a personal effort to feed his own family has grown into a thriving mission that now serves over 20,000 individuals every month across the DC Metro area, Maryland, and Northern Virginia—with growing outreach in California and Nevada.
Our core mission is to support neighbors facing food insecurity. But what does that really mean? For many, it means making heartbreaking choices: dinner or the gas bill? Groceries or diapers? A bus pass to get to work or a lunch for the day? For some children, it means relying on school meals as their only consistent source of food.
At Celestial Manna, we confront food insecurity head-on by rescuing surplus food from grocery stores, restaurants, and local farms—food that would otherwise go to waste. We call it Sharing in the Harvest. Thanks to our incredible network of dedicated volunteers, we collect and distribute these donations daily, reaching communities where access to healthy meals is limited.
We serve people from all backgrounds—working families, single parents, seniors, and anyone in need—without judgment or questions. Hunger doesn’t discriminate, and neither do we. Our success is measured not in numbers, but in the stories, smiles, and renewed hope we witness every day. This is more than charity—it’s a labor of love.
